This free training course is instructed by Bart Barta (Ret. Major, Coral Gables, Florida PD). This training is sponsored by Therapeutic Pathways, Inc and hosted by Big Valley Grace Community Church. Autism and the Law Enforcement Response training course will provide law enforcement personnel with a basic understanding of autism and how individuals with autism behave, communicate, and react in various situations. Furthermore, it will address high-risk and crisis incidents and provide officers with tips and strategies to defuse and deescalate the situation. Additionally, it will address how to conduct interviews involving victims, witnesses, and suspects with autism. Autism Safety 101, Inc will give a training certificate to all attendees who complete the entire training session. THIS FREE TRAINING IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL. Attendees will be required to provide law enforcement credentials on the training day.
