Autism and the Law Enforcement Response

This course will provide law enforcement officers with a basic understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how autistic citizens behave, communicate, and react in various situations. More importantly, it will address the unique challenges of individuals with autism. This training will provide tips and strategies to help reduce anxiety and facilitate the best outcomes. Autism Safety 101, Inc. will provide instruction on the challenges of interviewing someone with autism who might be a victim, witness, or suspect. This training will also address serious issues such as self-injurious behavior and the dangers of wandering and elopement. Officers attending this training will receive TCOLE credit.

Registration Fee ($275.00)
Registration fee must be received before March 22.

Cancellation Policy: More than 60 calendar days before the event - 100% refund. 30-59 calendar days before the event - 50% refund. Less than 30 days - no refunds. Cancellation requests must be made by emailing [email protected] Substitutions may be made up to the day prior to the training class. Please send an email informing us of the substitution.

If Autism Safety 101, Inc. cancels the event due to low enrollment or COVID restrictions, a full refund will be issued. Autism Safety 101, Inc. will not reimburse for travel or lodging costs. Please contact Bart at [email protected] before making travel or lodging arrangements.
